My first mural …
The ‘Natural Oasis’ is my first mural and located in Phnom Penh the capital of Cambodia.
Through the application couchsurfing I met an owner of an art & english school. As they where in the process of transformation she asked me for some support in exchange of my stay.
Next to a friendship and a two weeks stay in a busy capital in South East Asia I realized this mural. It was the origin of the idea to include that art aspect in my life when ever it matches.
Personal …
As a first mural this project will always have a special status. My preparation at that time were not really sophisticated. I knew about a waterfall on the right, a tree on the left and the fact it will be a natural scenery. With this organisation I did the mistake not to start with the background which means I had to be more carefull on the edges and rework some areas. Not a big deal less use of paint 😀 and it will not happen again! A speciality was also that I worked almost only with left over products.

Tobi is indeed an amazing artist, he did his first project in our company and I was really surprised how he managed to finish the whole mural without a reference! A young good hearted and talented traveler with full of sense of humor. We spent quite a while together with the other team in Cambodia, I am very glad and feel blessed to have known him through Couchsurfing that he did help us a lot, not only for painting our wall, he also fixed our broken cupboards and did some art lessons with the student. We’ve enjoyed a lot to have had him and still waiting for him. I personally appreciate him for continuing our friendships and to keep in touch whenever he finds time.
He never stops to pursue his plans and kept on traveling and helping people on his way. 🙂 I do believe that these experiences made you stronger and a better person.
Thank you so much Tobi for showing your spectacular journey and for sharing these tremendous memories especially for including our photo together. 🙂 I look forward to seeing you again! ‘
